Roland Jabbour OAM Attends Mawlid 2026 Celebration in Melbourne

Melbourne, August 2026 – H.E. Roland Jabbour OAM attended the Mawlid-un-Nabi 2026 celebration in Melbourne in his capacity as Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Morocco, joining members of Victoria’s diplomatic, political, religious and community leadership.

The community celebration marked the birth of the Prophet Muhammad and was organised by the Muslim Welfare Trust of Victoria, in cooperation with the Hararian Organisation, under the theme “Muhammad — We Live Upon His Way.”

The event brought together representatives from Melbourne’s diverse communities, including Islamic scholars and religious leaders, Members of Parliament, government representatives, members of the diplomatic and consular corps, Victoria Police representatives and community organisations.

Mr Jabbour joined fellow diplomatic representatives including officials representing Lebanon, Ethiopia, Iraq, Pakistan and Egypt, reflecting the strong multicultural and interfaith character of the gathering.

His attendance as Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Morocco reflected his ongoing commitment to community engagement, intercultural dialogue and strengthening relationships across Victoria’s diverse communities.

The celebration provided an important opportunity for religious, civic and diplomatic leaders to come together in a spirit of respect, unity and shared community values.

Mr Jabbour welcomed the opportunity to participate in the occasion and to engage with community leaders and fellow members of Victoria’s diplomatic and consular community.
